Duty Free Wish List

Beauty Blog Duty Free Wish List

Hello everybody!

We’re a month into blogging now, and onto the fourth and final installment of my holiday wish lists, the duty free wish list. This time next week, I will be mid air on my way to Orlando (Eeek!!!). That is after having spent most of the rent in duty free of course. This is what I have my eye on….

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Cologne
We’re flying from Gatwick, and while that can be a bit of a pain when you’re travelling from Belfast, it has it’s perks, one of which is Jo Malone at duty free. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I have a huge JM obsession that appears to be growing at an alarming rate. There is a list of colognes and bath products as long as my arm that I want to pick up and it seems like every time I visit the store, I discover another scent I love. No holiday is complete without a new fragrance picked up from duty free. You can wear it for the duration of your trip and then every time you spritz it after, it brings back those wonderful holiday memories. JM is well known for their scent layering and I often see this scent pop up as a good pairing with other scents that I already own. I have spritzed it a few times in store and I really love it, it’s light, fresh and smells divine when paired with JM’s latest Mimosa & Cardamom cologne.

Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Shower Oil
I have tested the Peony & Blush Suede shower oil in store during one of JM’s excellent hand and arm massages and was staggered at not only how far a small amount of this product goes, but by how much moisture it injects into the skin. Blackberry & Bay is one of my favourite autumnal scents and using this in the bath or shower will be a real treat. You can apply the oils either to dry skin for a pre-shower massage effect, or you can use them on damp skin to create a wonderful lather, I may even use it for shaving my legs on those nights when I fancy a real pamper!

MAC Strobe cream
No trip to duty free is complete without a visit to MAC. If I can get my hands on the travel size version of this, I will pick it up. It’s another cult product that I have just never got around to buying before. MAC gave me a little sample pot a few months back and I actually quite liked it, but I don’t think I had enough product to form a real opinion on it. I’ll let you know my thoughts.

Chanel CC Cream
I absolutely adore Chanel (who doesn’t right?). Their packaging is always slick and luxurious and I’ve never been disappointed with any of their beauty products (knock on wood). This cream boldly claims to correct, smooth, moisturise, protect and perfect. It has SPF50 and has been described as lightweight and fast absorbing and will therefore be perfect to have to hand in the hot and humid Florida heat. I have seen swatches online and it seems to give a semi-matte but luminous finish, if that makes sense, which I think will be lovely on holiday.

Estee Lauder Brush-On Glow BB Highlighter
That name is a bit of a mouthful isn’t it? But it includes several of my favourite words! At first glance, this seems similar to the YSL Touche Eclat, but this product isn’t solely a highlighter as it is said to possess some solid concealer clout, while at the same time, being moisturising and non-cakey. Sounds like a dream product right?

Should I add anything else to my list? A travel exclusive set perhaps? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Bath & Body Works Wish List

Bath and Body Works Wish List

Hello everyone! Another Sunday means yet another instalment of my holiday wish lists. This week it’s the famous Bath and Body Works….

Hand Sanitisers Pocketbac
These are probably what B&BW is most famous for and I intend to stock up for the next year at least on these scented gels. B&BW are great for multi-buy deals and you can pick up 5 of these little guys for $6. The scents are amazing and they are nowhere near as drying as some sanitisers can be. The Winter fragrances should be available by the time I am in the States, so I intend on getting some festive scents for the holiday season.

B&BW’s selection of candles is fantastic. They do a great mix and match deal where you can get 3 mini candles for $12 which are a great size for my bathroom. I haven’t picked out which scents I want to pick up yet as I want to smell them in store first but I remember falling in love with the Leaves scent the last time I was in the States which is a beautiful autumnal fragrance. I am wary that my suitcase may be excessively heavy on my return, so I will try to limit myself to only 3 of the mini candles, wish me luck on that one…

Staying with the home scent theme, I also have my eyes on one of B&BW’s wallflowers. These are essentially plug in fragrances but there is a huge amount of refills available and the refills are scents that are so different to anything that can be picked up in the local supermarket. I’ll most likely pick up few festive scents for the holidays.

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap
I am a huge Christmas freak as you will all learn soon enough. When browsing the B&BW site, I spotted that the winter scent preview is now online. I was immediately drawn to Fresh Sparkling Snow, not only for the festive packaging, but for the description of the scent which is hailed as “the crisp scent of icy pear and melon frosted with winter musk”. I really look forward to having this in my bathroom over the holidays, preferably in the pretty snowflake sleeve.

Shea Cashmere Hand Cream
The last time I was in the States, I bought this hand cream and looooved it! The scent is absolutely divine and the super moisturising hand cream absorbs wonderfully into the skin. Every time I used this, people would comment on the scent as it was so strong. I need to restock.

Various Bath and Body Products
I’m keenly aware that (a) my case is going to be ridiculously overweight on the way back to the UK and (b) that Christmas isn’t too far away (sorry for so many Christmas references before Halloween, but I can’t help myself). This means I am really going to try hard and limit myself to just a few general bath and body products as I know I will be well stocked after Christmas. B&BW do a great 3 for $12 deal on travel size products which  is a great way to try out some new scents so I will try and pick out a few shower gels, lotions and fragrance mists to keep me going.

What are all of your top Bath and Body works products? I’d love to hear about your favourite scents too!

Until next time…

U.S Drugstore Beauty Wish List

US Drugstore wish list.crest.wetnwild.eos.elf.milani.loreal
Hello everybody!
I can’t believe how quickly this week has flown in. It seems like only yesterday that I wrote my first proper post. One benefit of exceptionally fast moving time is that it’s already time for the second instalment of my holiday wish lists. This week I am sharing what I am coveting most from the U.S. Drugstore….

Crest 3d Whitestrips
I have heard so much about these whitening strips that I simply have to try them. Luckily my teeth aren’t too stained as I don’t smoke and I rarely drink tea etc. I’ve had my teeth professionally whitened years ago, and while the results were great, it’s an expensive habit to keep up. Fortunately, these strips aren’t too expensive (around $40-$70 depending on the formulation you choose) and they seem to give really good results. I’ll be reporting back on these for sure.

EOS Products
The first EOS product that I want to pick up is one of their lip balms. I know i’m extremely late to the party with these little balms but I will be honest, I’m not a religious lip balm user. I have one that sits on my office desk which I’ll apply maybe twice a day, and I have my Eve Lom Kiss Mix that I try to apply at night, but I think I’m just lazy with lip care, which I want to change. I already have the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask on my Sephora wish list, but these little balms are so popular that I think I really need to try them out for myself to see what all the fuss is about. I’m intrigued by the shape and the look forward to checking out the different flavours. The second EOS product I am coveting is their hand cream. Although I’m not great at keeping up with my lip care, I am a bit OCD when it comes to my hands. The soap in work is somewhat drying, so I always have a hand cream close by on my desk. Truthfully, it is primarily the packaging that has caught my eye with these hand creams as they look super portable and cute. The product is said to be fast absorbing which is something I always look for in a hand cream as I hate the feeling of sticky, greasy hands. The final EOS product I have my eye on is their shave cream. I’m swayed towards the Vanilla Bliss scent for this product as it sounds divine. This product claims to be ultra moisturising, perfect for winter as my legs tend to be a bit more neglected being hidden away in thick tights and winter boots.

Milani Baked Blush
This is another product that I am way behind with. Even though I keep hearing great things about these blushes,I have yet to try anything from the Milani line. I feel that the packaging for a drugstore make up line looks quite luxurious and there is a good selection of colours to choose from. I have seen swatches on other blogs and the pigmentation of these blushes looks incredible. I look forward to seeing if they really are good dupes for the Nars blushes which I adore.

Wet N Wild Eye Shadow Collection & Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Colour
From the Wet n Wild line I primarily want to pick up two items. The first is one of their eye shadow palettes as it is another product I continually see pop up in US beauty hauls and for $4.99 for an 8 shadow palette, it’s a bargain! The second product is one of their liquid lip colours. Shade wise, I will most probably go for some variation of nude (I am a pretty straight laced nude lip kinda gal) but given their affordable price tag ($2.99), if I come across a statement colour that I love, I might pick it up to encourage me out of my comfort zone.

L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray
I have seen Tati rave about this product on numerous occasions which quite frankly is enough to persuade me to buy it. I currently rotate a few of the Infallible foundations inmy makeup routine, which I love, so I am excited to add another product from the line to my stash.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eye Shadow
I know we can get these shadows in the UK, but the shade range is much larger in the US. I have heard these shadows be compared to MAC paint pots at a fraction of the cost. They are super long wearing and the colour pay off is amazing.

e.l.f. Professional Lip Exfoliator
The final product to make it to my wish list is the e.l.f. lip exfoliator. This product comes conveniently packaged as a lipstick which is what has turned my head. I ordinarily use Lush lip scrub which is great, but can be a pain to get out of the tiny pot and it gets stuck under my nails which freaks me out (am I alone in this?). The e.l.f. lip exfoliator is infused with vitamin E, shea butter, avocado, grape and jojoba oil which indicates it will also be very moisturising and with a price tag of $2.69, it’s another steal!

Please let me know if you have any more drugstore recommendations for me. I will no doubt come back with much more than what’s on this list (don’t we all?), but I would love to hear about what you all like to pick up from the US drugstore?
