Skincare Sunday – Sisley Express Flower Gel Mask

Hello lovelies!

My last Skincare Sunday focussed on my quest for hydration in the form of the Chanel Hydrabeauty Micro Serum. This week, the theme continues in the form of a hydrating, and very luxurious, mask.

Sisley is a brand I won’t really buy for myself. It’s prohibitively expensive and I just can’t justify that type of expenditure at the minute. However, the last few Christmases and birthdays have seen my wonderful man pick me up a few bits from their range that he knew I wanted to try. This Christmas it was their much-hyped Express Flower Gel Mask.

At £80 for 60ml, it’s definitely considered a super luxury product in my opinion. However, for me at least, Sisley products are justified in their pricing for the simple fact, the products really work.

Sisley recommend  using this mask 2-3 times per week and to apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin and tissue off the excess after 3-5 minutes. Personally, I leave the excess to sink into my skin – at that price, i’m tissuing NOTHING off. I also don’t think it’s necessary to use this as often as 2-3 times per week. Instead I save it for once a week or even once a fortnight depending on my skin’s hydration levels and I still really notice the difference.

This mask is a thin, light gel and upon application, has a refreshing, cooling and soothing effect on the skin. It’s packed full of floral extracts and oils including white lily to enhance moisture levels in the skin alongside rose and iris which refresh and soften the skin.

After using this mask, my skin looks firm, plump and hydrated. I can also noticeably see a difference in the radiance of my skin (always a bonus).

I personally think this mask would be great for bringing on long-haul flights to replenish moisture levels and keep the skin well hydrated. The fact that it’s a clear gel would be particularly useful for this purpose also – I’m just not quite ready for applying a sheet mask mid-flight…

In all, I really do love this mask, it’s luxurious  and enjoyable to use. Do I think it warrants its hefty price tag? Probably not in all honesty. I say this simply because there are other masks out there which deliver the moisturising benefits and with much smaller price points (the Peter Thomas Roth rose mask springs to mind).

What are your favourite moisturising face masks?

Thanks for reading!
