Skincare Sunday: Temple Spa Trufflesque Ultra Hydration and Radiance Masque Review

Like any sane person, I love a good trip to the spa to pamper myself and unwind. Unfortunately my bank balance does not enjoy these trips. I have had to cut back on such luxuries of late and start thinking of more cost effective ways of doing these kind of things so when Temple Spa made contact with me to try out one of their best selling face masks from their popular Trufflesque range – the Ultra Hydration and Radiance Masque*, I didn’t need to be asked twice!

Temple Spa are a luxurious home spa brand who believe that the body is a living temple and we should therefore honour our bodies and treat them accordingly – something I can get on board with when it comes to beauty products – not so much when it comes to giving up the sweets, gin or prosecco, but that’s besides the point.

Temple Spa Ultra Hydration and Radiance Masque

For me, this mask oozes sheer luxury from the outset. From it’s beautiful, chic packaging to the mask’s iridescent golden colour. The box even contains a tiny little brush for slathering on the product and you all know how I feel about cute, dinky things. The texture is silky smooth and feels so satisfying to apply to the skin.

The mask claims to be somewhat of an all rounder with claims of instant radiance, a firmer complexion, super hydration and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines. Seems too good to be true, right?

The ingredient list as you would expect is packed full of potent luxury items including gold and silk peptides which act as antioxidants, black summer truffles to help aid radiance and diamond powder which helps blur textural skin issues. The addition of hyaluronic acid and honey amp up the hydration benefits whilst marine and strawberry extract help tone and tighten the skin. However, the thing that I was most interested in was the unique, trade-marked, Hydra-Plump Complex which claims to boost collagen production in the skin – never, ever a bad thing!

Temple Spa Trufflesque Mask

I have been using this mask approximately once a week for a little over a month to really get a feel for the product. I save it for what I like to call my “special bath nights”. You know, the nights when you mean business when it comes to pampering with a glass of prosecco in the bath, the Jo Malone candle lit and the fresh sheets and pyjamas? Or is that just me? This mask really lends itself to these spa at home evenings and for me, I wouldn’t want to use it haphazardly, I want to enjoy the product and take my time to unwind with it.

I slather on a layer of the mask to my face and neck (being careful to avoid the sensitive eye area) and leave it to work it’s magic for 15 minutes. Temple Spa recommend that at this stage you should massage the mask on the skin and leave for a further 2-3 minutes. I then rinse the residue off with a warm flannel and further massage any residual product into my skin for a few minutes. I would really recommend not cleansing your face after rinsing this mask so that any ingredients left behind can continue to work on your skin – I’m not a product waster!

Temple Spa Mask

I have relatively normal skin but some luxury products in the past have caused me some  irritation. This is not one of those products. There is no stinging, or tingling sensation upon application. In fact, it is quite the opposite – the mask feels soothing and nourishing.

When I remove the mask, my skin feels supple and really plumped. I can actually see a noticeable difference in the radiance of my skin too. The moisture levels in the skin are significantly increased and the skin looks really fresh and healthy. I’ve been for many a luxury, spa treatment facial and I can honestly say that this mask delivers similar results.

The mask is priced at £50.00 for 75ml which does make it a pricey enough product, but the brush helps you spread the product evenly meaning you’re less likely to over use the product. If you’re in the market for a mask that is perfect for use before a big event or to really pamper yourself at home like me, then I highly recommend picking this up.

You can buy the Trufflesque mask online here. I myself cannot wait to try out more products from their range.

Have you tried anything from the Temple Spa range? What do you recommend?
