I love a good sheet mask. In fact, I’m obsessed with sheet masks. Every time that I come across a new brand, I HAVE to try them out so when the lovely Michael from Beauty Belle asked if I would like to try out some of their masks, I didn’t hesitate in saying HELL YES!
Beauty Belle is a local Northern Irish company which sources and stocks several skincare brands while focusing mainly on various sheet masks.
Michael very kindly sent me one of their best-sellers, the Timeless Truth Bio-Cellulose Bee Venom & Royal Jelly Miracle Mask to try out. I have tried the bee venom facial in The Merchant Spa before and was super impressed with the results so I was extremely excited to see if this compared especially for an absolute fraction of the cost!
The bio-cellulose mask is a cloth sheet mask. This type of mask is perfect because it encourages deeper penetration of the mask’s ingredients into the skins layers.
I always try to look after my skin as most of you will know but it has been a little dehydrated recently with the change in the weather. I knew my skin needed a real injection of moisture last week so I decided to bring this mask out.
This particular mask claims to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin whilst plumping, hydrating and firming the skin. Nothing too shabby there in the claims, eh?
So what’s so good about bee venom I hear you ask? Well, bee venom is known as nature’s alternative to botox. It fools the skin into thinking that it has been stung which in turn stimulates the production of collagen and we all know how important collagen is! I’ve just turned 30. Thankfully, I’m not seeing the need for botox yet, but I can see a few fine lines on my head when my skin is dehydrated, so this type of mask is perfect.
Asides from the anti aging bee venom, the mask contains an impressive list of ingredients including royal jelly for its soothing and healing properties, hyaluronic acid for hydration and tranexamic acid for reducing any redness in the skin.
The mask itself is particularly thin. Be careful when removing it from the package as the mask comes protectively sandwiched between two pieces of gauze! It is absolutely drenched in product as sheet masks tend to be and with such impressive ingredients, I was very happy to see an abundance of product.
Upon application, my skin felt immediately soothed. It says to leave the mask on for 20 minutes though I left mine closer to the 30 minute mark as I really wanted my skin to drink up the ingredients.
Once the mask had been removed, the difference in my skin was instantly recognisable. Any redness in my skin prior to putting the mask on had disappeared. My skin looked refreshed, plumped and clear. To touch, my skin felt unbelievably silky soft and hydrated.
I would really recommend keeping this mask in your stash. I think it’s another mask that would work amazingly well to use the morning of a big event to increase radiance and glow. In terms of comparison to the facial at the spa, I would say the results are actually pretty similar. The experience is obviously that bit nicer in The Merchant oddly enough but instead of forking out £70 a pop, you can pick up a box of five of these masks for £32.99 here it’s a no brainer! I will certainly be picking up some more!!
Have you tried anything from this brand before? What are your favourite sheet masks?
