Review: BareMinerals BarePro Foundation

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you will have seen that I was recently fortunate enough to have been invited along to a BareMinerals masterclass at Debenhams, Castlecourt.

The evening was so lovely with the wonderful team from the counter looking after us by plying us with plenty of prosecco,  delicious cupcakes and yummy chocolates! The brand’s lovely representative Kerri, showcased a masterclass using many of the brand’s cult products. I particularly liked the fact that it was a really interactive demo and Kerri and the staff were excellent at answering any questions we had about the products. To be honest, I had never tried anything from BareMinerals even though I had coveted their products at the counter a tonne of times so I really enjoyed learning all about the brand and its ethos.

At the end of the evening we were very kindly provided with an extremely generous goodie bag and were told that we would be colour matched in order for us to try out the BarePro foundations for ourselves! I was SO excited!

Bridgin from the counter expertly matched me to the shade Sandalwood (which would be my ‘tan’ shade) and when it arrived in the post a few weeks later, I couldn’t hold my horses and had it on my face almost immediately!

When I think of BareMinerals as a brand, I immediately think of complexion products. Their cult mineral foundation has been hugely popular over the years, but it never really appealed to me as I didn’t believe it would hold enough coverage luckily enough, the BarePro liquid foundation is a medium to full coverage formula!

So what’s initially good about the product?

The product has a tonne of plus points for me personally:

  • it’s spf20;
  • 24 hour wear time;
  • sweat, heat and transfer resistant;
  • ‘good for skin ingredients’;
  • pump bottle;
  • wide shade range (30 shades in total)

What exactly are ‘good for skin ingredients’?

The foundation is formulated using a tonne of ingredients that are good for your skin including bamboo stem extract and papaya. The ingredient list is so good that I was told it’s not the end of the world if you sleep with your make up on (I still won’t do it, i’m a good girl).

How does it wear?

The foundation has a natural-matte finish that gives a nice radiance to the skin despite  the matte element. My pores around my nose have been quite large of late and this foundation totally blurs them. The coverage is full to me but it doesn’t feel at all heavy on my skin.

It wears really well throughout the day. It doesn’t gather around my nose or forehead like other full coverage foundations can and it doesn’t crease as the day goes on either. I have teamed it with the BareMinerals Prome Time primer, and I think that helps with the longevity!

What’s the final verdict?

It’s a huge yes from me! I have found myself reaching for this foundation more and more since it arrived!

The coverage is fantastic yet it barely feels like you’re wearing anything at all on your skin as it’s so lightweight. It’s non drying too which is exactly what I need at the moment as my skin is super dry.

I love the fact that BareMinerals have incorporated skincare ingredients into their make up.

A pump is enough to cover my entire face as it spreads so well. I only too Up the areas that need a bit more coverage and the foundation layers really well.

In all, I’ve really enjoyed my first delve into BareMinerals. I really like the overall ethos of the brand and will certainly be looking to try out more products going forward.

Have you tried BareMinerals before? What is your favourite product?

Thanks for reading!

    I love their primer but haven’t tried much else from the brand. This sounds like a great one especially since it’s not that dull matte finish x
