Hello lovelies!!
For any of you who follow me on Instagram you will know that I’m perhaps a little obsessed with Jo Malone products. So when the lovely Hollie in the Belfast Store invited me and my mum along to the official launch of the new Herb Garden collection, I couldn’t say no, could I?
This event was one of the better events I’ve been to for Jo Malone. On arrival we were given a lovely herb infused cocktail menu in collaboration with The Ivory restaurant to choose our drink from. Once cocktail orders were in, we were given some lavender infused shortbread to nibble on – quite the strange pairing.
Cocktails in hand, it was time for the Jo Malone girls to introduce the collection to us and explain each scent.
First of let us take a moment to appreciate the pretty packaging. Very different for Jo Malone to have a colourful bottle and this all green one looks perfect for Spring. The green tones vary depending on the intensity of the fragrances inside and there is a pretty little illustration on the bottle of each herb included in each cologne.
This new limited edition collection is inspired by scents from the British herb garden. There are five scents in the collection including:
Wild Strawberry & Parsely
A peppery fragrance filled with unexpected parsley and vine tomato leaves, beautiful balanced with the sweetness of strawberries an blackcurrant.
Nasturtium & Clover
Peppery Rocket is blended with bright lemon and soft white florals.Carrot Blossom & Fennel.
Lavender & Corriander
Refreshing and soothing lavender is blended with spicy coriander. The Tonka Bean adds warmth to the mossy base. The most masculine of the five fragrances.
Sorrel & Lemon Thyme
A fresh, zesty citrus fragrance which is uplifting and invigorating, beautiful balanced with thyme on bed a woody, earthy moss.
Carrot Blossom & Fennel
The unexpected sweetness of carrot is blended with aniseed fennel, with delicate florals and a moss base.
My personal favourite from the collection and the one I opted to bring home is the Carrot Blossom & Fennel. It is sweet and fresh with added depth in the form of the rose and orange flower water. Hollie gave me a wonderful arm and hand massage and layered the Carrot Blossom & Fennel with Mimosa & Cardamom which smelled incredible! My mum opted for Nasturtium & Clover which was paired with Nectarine Blossom & Honey. This was a beautiful sweet pairing, and I could smell this so much more clearly than my own.
After a wonderful massage, we had some time to chat to the very interesting, Denise Dunne who runs Theherbgarden.ie. Denise is a wealth of knowledge on all things herb and gave us a lovely little hand tied posey of various herbs to take home with us, the scents of which were amazing.
In all, I think Jo Malone have knocked it out of the park with this new collection. Of the five scents, I absolutely love four. The only one I’m not crazy about is the Lavender & Corriander. I might have to return to pick another one up before they completely sell out.
Have you smelt this new collection? What’s your favourite?
