As a beauty blogger, one of my favourite things is trying new brands and products, let’s face it, I’m a bit of a product floozy in some respects. I love discovering all manner of beauty products and sharing my favourites with you all and also hearing what you have been loving too. We’re all one big group of enablers! Recently I’ve come across some great new gems that I’ve really been enjoying.(more…)

The shift to the Spring and Summer months means that my skin enjoys something a bit lighter in terms of moisturisers as opposed to the thicker creams that I tend to reach for during the winter months. For my normal skin, a gel or water based moisturiser is perfect for this time of the year.
The perfect formulation is lightweight, feels refreshing on the skin and hydrates without leaving the skin feeling greasy or oily. I like the fact that most gel moisturisers layer really well with other products and leave the skin feeling juicy and plumped.
If you have oily or combination skin, a gel or water based moisturiser will be a great option for you to keep your skin moisturised without overloading the skin. However, if you have normal or even somewhat dehydrated skin, some of these picks might be perfect for you too!
If you follow me on social media, you’ll know that there are a few brands that I have a serious love affair with and Alpha H is definitely one of those brands. The brand specialises in resurfacing and regularising troublesome skin and were one of the pioneers of skincare when it came to the use of glycolic acid. Over the past few years, I have tried many of the brands products and to be honest, there haven’t been too many that I haven’t loved. Although I like the majority of the products that I’ve tried, there are some real stand out products that I will repurchase again and again.
So if you’re new to Alpha H as a skincare brand and want to explore it, what do are the products that I really rate?
If you haven’t heard of hyaluronic acid in terms of skincare, I’d think you’ve been living under a bush. For us skincare junkies, it’s the key ingredient to plump and hydrate the skin from within. I’ve had it incorporated into my skincare routine in some fashion for many, many years and it’s an ingredient I know my skin would miss instantly if it disappeared from my line up! Regardless of your skin type, hyaluronic acid will be a welcome addition to your skincare routine.
Over the past few months, I’ve tried three hyaluronic acid serums which cover three different budgets but firstly what’s the lowdown on HA?
It’s been a while since I wrote a Skincare Sunday post hasn’t it? My skin had a bit of a blip a few months ago, and wasn’t at it’s best. I think hormones and stress were to blame, but it meant that I had to do a bit of a reshuffle in terms of my skincare regime and I’ve discovered some new favourites whilst doing it! Plus the current lockdown has given me an opportunity to really amp up my skincare routine and to be honest, my skin is looking really well at the minute if I do say so myself so it’s obviously working…
It’s safe to say the weather has been pretty woeful of late. The cold wind has crept back in which means my skin has been taking a real battering and has been looking a little dull and feeling a bit drier than usual. When it’s miserable outside, I am perfectly content to stay cosy inside and have a bit of a pamper and what better way to do that than to give yourself a nice, hydrating at home facial?(more…)
It’s not a secret that I’m a bit of a product junkie. When I see something new or just launched, I want to try it. When I see something on Instagram, I want to try it. In short, I’m a marketers dream! So with that being said, it’s no surprise that I routinely have new products in my rotation. Some of which I am lucky enough to be sent, others I pick up for myself!
I love seeing what’s new in other product aficionados beauty stashes so I thought I would share with you all the new products I found myself reaching for the most throughout last month!
I’m a skincare junkie. You’d need to be a blind person not to have noticed that by now. When a brand that I love, launches something new, I can’t wait to try it.
Alpha H is such a dreamy skincare brand which specialises in regulating sensitive skin types and resurfacing overactive skin. The brand’s founder, Michelle Doherty started the brand after spending years trying to combat her own adult acne and the brand is credited with being pioneers when it comes to the use of glycolic acid in skincare routines. If you haven’t tried anything from the brand, you need to rectify that immediately. Trust me.
They recently launched their Essential Skin Perfecting Moisturiser and when I was kindly offered the chance to trial the product, it was a no brainer but to say yes. Designed as a multi-purpose, time saving beauty product, I couldn’t wait to get this on my face.
Rose skincare has become a real ‘thing’ recently. Brands such as Pixi have entire skincare lines dedicated to the hero ingredient and I’ve found myself adding more and more rose based products to my skincare rotation over the past year. The scent alone has me hooked but there is a lot more to rose as an ingredient than you may initially realise.
Rose oil extract is extracted from rose petals and is well known for its soothing properties along with it’s ability to rebalance the skin and counteract redness. Rose oil is renowned for its anti-inflammatory benefits and is used in skincare routines to calm and tackle irritated skin.
Rose can also come in the form of rosewater when it comes to skincare ingredients and possesses very similar properties to rose oil. It is also celebrated for its ability to refresh and revitalise the skin whilst also being a natural astringent which helps tone the skin as well as reducing the appearance of pores.
Right, it’s no secret that I love a good cleanser. It’s a bit of an obsession actually and balm cleansers are one of my favourite little luxuries in my routine.
I love the feel of massaging a beautiful balm into my skin and really deep cleansing. Over the last year or two, I have tried a lot of different products (all in the name of research of course…) and I have come across some absolute gems during the course of that time.
Sit back and get comfy, here are my top balm cleansers of the moment!
