I recently read a post on the lovely Beautylymins blog about the make up products that she has loved over the years and whether they are still products that she reaches for (you can read it here). And I have to say, I enjoyed the post so much that I have taken inspiration from it for my own version!
It did get me thinking, there were products 10 to 15 years ago in my collection that I couldn’t be without. The products that if they ran out, I would immediately re-purchase without hesitation. Obviously over the years my style has changed, make up has evolved, new brands have hit the market, and sadly some of my holy grail original products have been discontinued. But some products really have stood the test of time and have remained in my collection and have been re-purchased countless times over the years, so what are they?
As a beauty blogger, one of my favourite things is trying new brands and products, let’s face it, I’m a bit of a product floozy in some respects. I love discovering all manner of beauty products and sharing my favourites with you all and also hearing what you have been loving too. We’re all one big group of enablers! Recently I’ve come across some great new gems that I’ve really been enjoying.
The iT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream has been a cult favourite of beauty aficionados across the world for years garnering rave reviews far and wide. Early last year I was introduced to their oil free formula which you may remember, I adored and since then I have been fortunate enough to try the other formulations in the range to compare.
Everybody has heard about BB Creams or ‘beauty balms’ but the majority that I’ve tried generally don’t have enough coverage for my liking. CC Creams on the other hand are a staple in my make up routine. The ‘CC’ stands for colour correcting which makes creams like this perfect for my redness prone Irish skin.
It’s not a secret that I’m a bit of a product junkie. When I see something new or just launched, I want to try it. When I see something on Instagram, I want to try it. In short, I’m a marketers dream! So with that being said, it’s no surprise that I routinely have new products in my rotation. Some of which I am lucky enough to be sent, others I pick up for myself!
I love seeing what’s new in other productaficionadosbeauty stashes so I thought I would share with you all the new products I found myself reaching for the most throughout last month!
When I first heard that Urban Decay were phasing out their OG Naked palette after 10 years, I (like a lot of you) was very annoyed. I have loved that palette for years and couldn’t understand the rationale as it was still hugely popular and was what really catapulted them into cult beauty brand status.Nicole Ritchie even staged a fake funeral for it on social media. The beauty world wasn’t happy.
The Naked palettes have been a staple in girls make up bags far and wide for years. Every time a new palette is released, make up junkies seem to add it to their collection without question and I’m no different really (except I don’t have the Naked Cherry palette yet, I really must sort that out!).So when Urban Decay announced there would be an update to the original Naked palette in the form of the Naked Reloaded palette, I wasn’t surprised but I was intrigued.
The Naked Reloaded palette replaces the now discontinued original Naked palette and houses 12 all new nude shades that are designed to flatter all skin tones. At first, I wasn’t sure I would be dying about this product as it looked similar to a lot of palettes that I already owned in pictures but the minute that I opened it, I started to change my mind. Here’s why….
I’m going to be honest, when I opened this press package I screamed. And then I nearly cried. Too Faced have long been one of my absolute favourite makeup brands and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Erika Jayne, is one of my favourite people to watch on realityTV – she just keeps it real and she’s a total geg (Northern Ireland speak for hilarious). So when several products from the hotly anticipated collaboration made its way to me, I was absolutely chuffed.
This collection has been widely anticipated, two years in the making to be exact, so if you want to look like Erika, now’s your chance. As expected, the product names are risqué in line with former Too Faced launches and Erika’s personality. The packaging is also bright, fun and bold which fits in perfectly with the Too Faced brand as a whole – their packaging has always been one of my favourites.
Thefullcollection features an eyeshadow palette, kissable body shimmer, highlighter, two lip kits and a tinted version of Too Faced’s iconic Lip Injection Lip Plumper.I was fortunate enough to have been sent the majority of the collection (seriously, somebody pinch me) and after a couple weeks playing with the products, I’m ready to give you the low down!
Hello lovelies! I’ve been trying to streamline the amount that I carry around with me in my bag because (a) my bag gets bloody heavy and (b) I can’t find anything when I need it which kind of defeats the whole purpose of carrying it with you anyway.
However, there are certain staple products that I really can’t do without. These are products that you’re likely to find on me anytime you see me. So what are they?
Happy New Year my lovelies!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas period and are suitably struggling to squeeze into your jeans like I am! What better way to start a new year than with a new blog post, featuring a new brand discovery!
As I have mentioned before, one of my favourite things about blogging, is trying out new brands and products. I can even convince myself that i’m doing it for the greater good i.e. sharing it with you all 😉
Recently I was lucky enough to try out a few products from German brand Artdeco and I have discovered some real gems.
I had never tried the brand before and if I’m honest, I think that it is a really under rated brand even though it’s stocked at beauty giant Beautybay.
So what’s my verdict on the products I’ve tried so far?
Can you believe that it’s Christmas already?! It only seems like a few months ago that we were starting this year!!
I love doing some Christmas shopping and finding the perfect gifts for my friends and family! So I thought I would share some of my top picks with you all in case you are still looking for inspiration…
