Hello lovelies!
I’ve been on a bit of a mission this year to find the perfect concealers. My demands are simple – creamy, good coverage and ideally, brightening.
I’ve curated my top four high end concealers to share with you all and I hope to follow this up with a top four drugstore post in the coming weeks to see if I can find any cheaper dupes.
Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer £22.50
This one is a cult product. When I first started reading blogs and watching YouTube, there wasn’t a blogger out there who wasn’t talking about this concealer. I, like most things, came a bit late to the party and only picked it up last year.
I love the simple and sleek packaging and this comes with a doe foot applicator which I’m a real fan of for ease of application. The formula is thicker than some of the other products, but it blends beautifully under the eyes and the coverage is great. I use the shade Vanilla which is a good shade match for me, but when it’s time to repurchase I think I will opt for the lighter Chantilly, to really brighten my under eye area.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer £18
Another highly talked about product! I use the shade NW15 which makes it the lightest of all my concealers and completely eradicates any dark circles or blemishes.
The formula is thick and creamy and it really is as long wearing as the name would suggest.I tend to gravitate towards this for evening looks and times when I am wearing a bit more make up than usual as I find that it can be slightly drying on my skin if used too much.
My only major gripe about this product is the pump style bottle. This makes is almost impossible to control how much product comes out and leads to a real wastage. That being said, I find this one to have the best product longevity. I’ve been using it pretty often since last Christmas and I still have a lot of product left in the tube.
Clarins Instant Concealer £21.50
A less talked about product, but one that deserves a bit of hype in my opinion. This one is one of the more fluid of the bunch. I dot this one under my eyes and blend with a Beautyblender which gives a really beautiful and soft finish.
I find this one to be very illuminating and brightening. The tube contains a lot of product so a little goes a long way. I use the shade 01 which is the lightest available and find that it works really well for my skin tone. It lasts well on my skin and looks really natural.
My holy grail concealer (*bold claim*). I cannot say enough good things about this product. I LOVE it!
The formula is light weight but packs a real punch in terms of coverage. It’s buildable and never cakes or looks unnatural. The doe foot applicator makes it a dream to apply under the eyes. and the product blends flawlessly no matter what method I use.
I use the shade Light Neutral and it really brightens my under eye area and works well for highlighting the forehead/chin area. I also really like to use this product on my nose as I find it really covers redness around my nostril area. If this post encourages you to buy one product – let it be this!
This one is the newest addition to my concealer collection and contains some of the more high tech science. The formula contains a blend of concealer and correctors along with radiance boosting and anti-dark circle technology.
It is lightweight and applies beautifully. It doesn’t settle in fine lines around my under eyes and doesn’t dry my under eye area out at all. I use the shade R30 which I’m not convinced is the best shade match for my skin tone – but I can make it work.
