Hold up! There’s a new skincare range in town and it’s a local brand to boot. Mid October saw the relaunch of the newly refurbished Radiance Beauty and Day Spa in Finaghy, Belfast along with the official launch of their very own medical grade skincare range, Radiance Beauty.
I was very kindly invited along for a full skincare consultation ahead of the launch with one of the salon’s therapists, Carly (who is a skincare genius just for the record). As a beauty blogger, it’s inevitable that I love to try out new brands but I get particularly excited when it’s a local brand or business as I think it’s important that we all support each other.
The newly refurbished salon houses an impressive 11 treatment rooms, extensive nail bar, hair salon and make up station, essentially a one stop shop for all of your beauty needs!
Upon my arrival, I was very warmly greeted by staff and offered a tea or coffee whilst I waited for Carly to finish up with her last client. I was struck by how busy the salon was for a standard Friday afternoon. I think that must tell us a lot about how well thought of they are.
Carly sat me down and asked me to talk her through my current skincare routine (she couldn’t help but giggle as I rhymed off the tonne of products that I like to play with). She then led me over to have my skin scanned using the salon’s very own ‘Observ 520’ machine (I’ve always wanted to try one of these) and talked me through the results in-depth. I had been convinced that I would have a lot of UV damage from careless sun bathing when I was younger but I was surprised to learn that my main problem was pigmentation and a touch of dehydration!
Carly also took time to explain and recommend some treatments that she thought would benefit my skin, namely, Thermavein for a few broken veins around my nose area and a light chemical peel incorporating the LED mask to aid with pigmentation issues and to brighten. I’m definitely considering the Thermavein process!
The new range from Radiance has launched with an impressive 11 product line up including cleansers, washes, serums, SPFs and moisturisers.
Carly recommended that I try out the C10 Professional Strength Vitamin C Serum to fight pigmentation and the early signs of ageing.
I have been testing the product for a month now, using a pump each morning in place of my previous serum and I have to admit that I am impressed. The serum is lightweight and absorbs quickly and seamlessly. Upon application I can definitely feel a tightening in my skin, in a good way. Thankfully I don’t have too many fine lines yet, but I can definitely see how this product might be good for plumping those out. The serum claims to also stimulate the production of collagen and we all know how I love to increase my collagen levels in my skin. In terms of the redness, I can see a noticeable difference and my skin is looking more even and bright after using this serum. The science behind this formulation is also impressive – the C10 contains L-ascorbic acid – a form of Vitamin C which is easily and quickly absorbed into the skin allowing for greater potency. The serum protects the skin from future environmental damage as well as neutralising free radicals.
To sum up, I’ve been really impressed with this serum and the range in general. The packaging is sleek and luxurious and the ingredient list and scientific technology behind the products are amazing. I definitely want to pick up more from the range for myself.
What are your top serums?
