Christmas Gift Ideas For the Little Dog In Your Life

For any of you that know me, you will know that I am obsessed with my little dog, Ruby. She’s honestly the best friend I’ve ever had. She’s loyal, fun affectionate and is always happy to see me. Mr Lynsey and I treat Ruby like our child. We just dote on her and while some people will roll their eyes and think we’re those “crazy dog people”, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Needless to say when Christmas rolls around, Ruby isn’t left out of the festivities at our house and has her very own little stocking on the fireplace that we fill with goodies for her.

So if you are dog obsessed like me, here are my top picks for Christmas pups or even some ideas to treat your dog in the New Year!

  • Paws with Opulence Collars

If you really want to spoil your pet then this is the way to go. Paws with Opulence have designed the most stunning leather collars foe your pooch for the festive season. Coming in three beautiful shades, these gifts ooze pure luxury. The leather is buttery smooth and the lining is like velvet making the collars extremely comfortable for your pampered pet. Paws With Opulence ensure that all of their collars are hand made by Spanish craftsmen who buff and smooth the leather to ensure the utmost quality.

I particularly loved the limited edition forest green shade against Ruby’s coat as it really stood out and the colour was so festive. Coming in at £65.00 it is on the more expensive side of the budget but would last your pet for a life time. Plus if you sign up to Paws With Opulence’s mailing list, you can avail of 10% discount off your first order. Check out their full Christmas range here.

  • Paws With Opulence Dog Bow Ties

Perhaps if your budget won’t stretch that far but you still want to add a touch of luxury to your pet’s attire, then why not check out these adorable little bow ties? Coming in an array of colour combinations, these little bow ties can be fastened to your dog’s collar to jazz up their Christmas look. I fell in love with the green and red bow tie with gold beading as it made Ruby look so festive and at only £12.00 it won’t break the bank!

  • Pets At Home Carob Chocolate Santa Shape Dog Treats

Treat your pooch to these tasty little carob treats this festive season as you indulge in treats yourself. Carob is the dog friendly alternative to chocolate as chocolate is highly poisonous for dogs. We got our family dog Snoopy these little Santa shapes last year and she LOVED them. At £4.00 they are affordable and a lovely treat for your pet this Christmas.

  • Murphy’s Barkery Christmas Cracker

Another festive treat from this popular local Northern Irish brand comes in the form of this beautiful dog Christmas cracker. At just £5.00 your doggy will be delighted to dig in and find a selection of gingerbread men and cheese snowmen. Go on, you know that they are worth it.

  • Bistro 4 Dogs

Another local business that offers tasty treats for your pup. While the smell of turkey is whafting through the house on Christmas day driving your poor dog wild with desire, why not pick up a duck carcass for your pooch for the main event. Packed with plenty of healthy meat for them to munch away on they’ll love you forever. If you are local, call up to the store at Unit 62 Enterprise Business Park, Mallusk and check out the full range of healthy treats for your pup. We picked up some of their turkey and stuffing burger chews at a recent charity dog event and I can’t wait to give them to Ruby and Snoopy.
