Liquid Eyeshadows to Lust Over: Phase Zero at Love Me Beauty: Review and Swatches

I’ll be honest, I hadn’t really tried out liquid eyeshadows before. I had been lusting after the Stila shadows for quite some time and had been toying with the idea of picking some up when these beauties from Phase Zero landed on the doorstep! Coincidence eh?

Love Me Beauty is a membership site which offers factory prices to members on a number of brands. It costs £5.00 per month and has a minimum contractual period of three months. However, you can still shop the site without a membership, you just won’t receive the massive discounts.

I couldn’t wait to get stuck into playing with these shadows and to create some different looks. I was kindly sent five shadows in total, three from the Coconut Range and two from the Metal Veil Range.

So what were my thoughts?

The Coconut Range  shadows are infused with coconut water making them hydrating on the eyes. They have a much thinner consistency than the Metal Veil shadows which need to be shook up before use. I was sent three shades:

  • Romance –  a pretty champagne pink shade with a tonne of shimmer;

  • Valentines –  a metallic, rosy pink;
  • Gilded –  metallic golden shade

The pigmentation is beautiful and very striking. They are super easy to use and blend out like a dream. I didn’t notice any creasing and all three shades wore really well on me in terms of longevity. My favourite shade is the beautiful rosy Valentines shade. Totally different to anything else that I have in my collection.

The Metal Veil Shadows are a lot thicker in consistency and remind me of a thick mousse texture.  The two shades that I received were:

  • Decadence – an opaque cool brown neutral shade

  • Simmer – a warm burnt red/orange shade. Perfect for bringing out blue eyes.

I used the Simmer shade at an event recently when I only had 30 minutes to get ready and my eye look was complete in a few minutes. I received a number of compliments on the colour and vibrance of the shadow, nobody could believe that it was only one simple product on my eyes! The Metal Veil shadows are a bit more opaque in terms of pigmentation so a little goes a long way.

Both formulations dry down quite quickly and when they set, they don’t budge, so it might be worth working one eye at a time with these products. Members prices for the shadows is just £4.00 each or £12.50 each for a non-member.

Have you tried anything from Phase Zero before? What should I try next?

Thanks for reading!
