Hello lovelies!! Thank goodness we are finished with January!! Like most of you, January is my least favourite month. You are on a low because Christmas is over, you have to wait for what feels like 6 months to be paid, the weather is always miserable and most of your resolutions have already fallen by the wayside (or maybe that’s just me?). Anyway, enough moaning from me – this is what I’ve been loving this January.
Make up
I have used the Nars One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette pretty much every day since I got it at Christmas. It has 4 wonderfully pigmented blushes, a good sized laguna bronzer, a contour and highlight. The quality is outstanding and I can’t see me getting bored with this product in February! To apply the contour shade, I’ve really enjoyed using this angled brush from Sephora. It picks up a nice amount of product and is really soft on my skin.
For my under eye area, I’ve been using the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector as I haven’t been getting much sleep. I’ve been using this as a base for my concealer and it’s seriously helped me fake awake all month. On top of the Becca corrector, I’ve been testing the cult MAC Pro Longwear Concealer which I also got for Christmas. I can’t believe that I hadn’t tried this product before as it’s always talked about on other blogs. The coverage is great, a little goes a long way and it has some serious lasting power. My only gripe is that it’s slightly more drying on my under eye area compared to other concealers I own.
For lips I’ve been loving my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in the shade Boy. This lipstick is so creamy it feels like a balm on my lips and the shine really lifts my lips. And Chanel packaging is always something that lifts my spirits!
Skincare
Skincare wise I’ve been adoring the cult Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil. It has made such a difference to my skin, evening out redness and texture. It’s pricey, but I can’t see me ever being without this now.
I suffer from terrible dryness around my under eye area and the only products that have truly made a big difference is using the Sisley Eye Contour Mask every other night before bed and using the Clarins “Special” Eye Contour Balm morning and night. This combination has ensured my eye contours have been hydrated and well moisturised. I plan on going into more detail in one of my next Sunday Skincare posts.
The final skin product that I’ve really enjoyed using is another product that I had yet to try and I’m late to join the bandwagon on, the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. I’ve been using this every morning on my chin and forehead and I’ve noticed that the little bumps I had been seeing under the skin have disappeared. I think it’s this combined with the Luna oil that changed my skin’s texture completely and I believe this is acting as a great preventative for any pesky spots!
Bath and body
Winter is perfect for long hot baths after a hard days work. I’ve been loving adding a few drops of this Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Bath Oil to my evening baths to unwind. The soft scent is beautiful and a tiny amount leaves my entire bathroom smelling amazing. Also on the topic of scents, the perfume I’ve been loving this month has been Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud Cologne Intense. A few spritzes of this rich scent lingers on my skin all day. I can’t get enough.
I wear hair extensions and my hairdresser used this Wella Elements Renewing Shampoo at my last colour appointment. I loved the fresh scent and when she explained that it was sulphate and paraben free, I snapped up one of the leftover Christmas gift sets. I’ve really enjoyed using this and my extensions are getting along really well with it.
Finally, to combat my dry lips, I’ve been applying a layer of Eve Lom Kiss Mix each night before bed. The thing that I like most about this product is the fact that it’s not sticky. My lips have been silky smooth each morning. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
What have you all been loving this January?
Thanks for reading!
