Hello lovelies!

I thought I should introduce you to the newest addition to our family – little Ruby the King Charles Spaniel puppy!

Last week, I was very surprised to find this little bundle of joy in my other half’s car and she’s been causing all sorts of fun and mayhem since.

We had been planning on getting a dog for over a year. We moved to a bigger house with a garden back in May and started researching breeders pretty much straight away.

We found a breeder a month ago and went into his diary for his next litter which was due at the start of November. I was eagerly waiting to hear about the new arrival when I received a text to say that there was no puppy for us. To cut a long story short, he either by passed us for somebody he knows or was offered more money. Bad man.

I was devastated as I was so excited to pick our new puppy up at Christmas. Luckily my other half had a contingency plan and had been looking at other litters.

I was on the sofa on Saturday feeling sorry for myself, with a horrible cold. Diarmaid “went out to the gym” for a few hours. When he arrived back I was told to “come look at his new toy for the car”. I had no interest and reluctantly came out to the car. I peeped inside and there she was. Wagging her little tail and eager to get out of her box for cuddles. I immediately burst into tears of joy, it was the sweetest thing anybody has ever done for me.

The past week has been a blur. It’s been hard work trying to train her and ensure she’s getting everything she needs. I forgot puppies can be like little babies, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. She is an absolute joy and the most loving little puppy. For now though, I’m enjoying a moment of quiet while she sleeps by the fire…
