Hello lovelies!!

This Winter has been playing havoc with my skin. My under eyes have gotten so much drier than usual and it’s been seriously bugging me!

About 4 months ago, my under eyes became so dry that they actually looked cracked. I stopped using every product I had been using, one by one, to determine if it was being caused by them. Nothing was changing, I bought several new eye creams, and searched the internet high and low for a solution.

It was at this point that I came across the Sisley Eye Contour Mask. I read rave reviews online about this product, and I had to try it. We were shopping one afternoon in Belfast and I asked the Sales Assistant at the Sisley counter if I could try a sample. I took it home, slathered on a thick layer, waited 20 minutes and tissued off the excess. The effect was immediate. The flaky skin around my eyes had disappeared and the entire area looked plump and hydrated.

Sisley is, as most of you will know, an expensive brand. When I checked the price of this mask out, I was horrified to see it was £80+. The sample that the SA had given me lasted for approximately 5 uses but I still couldn’t justify paying that price myself, so I cheekily asked for another sample, which I was given without a hesitation. Thankfully I didn’t have to return a third time for a sample, as my lovely man picked this up as a Christmas surprise, brownie points to Diarmaid.

This mask is packed with botanical ingredients, including, horse chesnut extract, rose flower water, algae extract and vitamins B5 and E to name a few.

The mask applies like a very thick gel (similar to Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream) which I really like as it feels extremely nourishing on the soft skin under my eyes. Sisley recommend leaving the mask on for 10 minutes, to tissue off the excess and let the thin layer left behind continue to work.

I use this mask 2-3 times per week, at night, before bed to leave on overnight. The mask smooths, hydrates and reduces puffiness and will last for a very long time as you need the tiniest amount for each eye.

To compliment this mask, I picked up a tube of the Clarins Special Eye Contour Balm to replace my daily eye cream. This balm is actually a rich cream designed for very dry skin that promises to smooth fine lines while protect the delicate skin around the eye. Although it is a rich cream, it feels non oily and sinks into the skin really easily.

I use this balm twice a day, morning and night and it has really complimented the Sisley mask in repairing the dry skin around my eyes. Whilst I wouldn’t say that  the results are miraculous with this cream alone, it really is super moisturising and nourishing and the fact that it’s specifically designed for dry eye contours, makes it perfect for me. I’ve had the cream for approximately 4 months and I have only got through about half. I will definitely be repurchasing when this runs out.
