Review: Bilou Products

Want to smell like Cotton Candy or perhaps a Tasty Doughnut? Well thanks to German YouTuber Bibi from Bibi’s Beauty Place, and her hit new bodycare brand, you can!

German brand, Bilou is well known for its unique scents and formulations and has recently arrived in the UK, exclusive to Superdrug.Β The range houses a total of nine different products in five delicious scents such as Cotton Candy, Fizzy Berry, Tasty Doughnut, Coco Cocktail or Pink Melon.

I was recently sent some products from the range to try out for myself and I’m ready to share my thoughts!

The three main products within the bodycare range thus far are:

  1. Creamy shower foams;
  2. Creamy foams (a body lotion in foam form); and
  3. 2 in 1 body sprays.

I was sent one of each product to try out in the scent β€œFizzy Berry” which can be described as a β€œfresh, fruity fragrance if tangy berry fizz with a dash of lemon” – right up my street.

I couldn’t wait to try out the shower foam to see if it was moisturising alongside smelling great as a lot of previous shower foams that i’ve tried are drying. Half a pump from the aerosol style can is more than enough to produce a puff of fluffy foam to wash your entire body.

The consistency is strange. It feels like washing yourself with shaving foam at first, but you soon got used to it. The scent is amazing. So fresh and fruity which subtly lingers on your body afterward. The foam didn’t dry out my skin at all, nor did it upset my psoriasis on my elbow. At just Β£3.99 a pop, I will definitely be trying out the other scents. I think these would make a really cute gift too!

Next up was the Creamy foam which had me most intrigued. I had never tried a foam formulation in a body cream before so I couldn’t wait to see how it performed. The foam comes in an aerosol can similar to the shower foam. Again, half a pump is all that is needed to produce a generous amount of product. The foam itself is super lightweight and aeriated meaning it doesn’t feel at all heavy on the skin. It sinks in super quick making it perfect for those β€˜get ready and run out the door’ mornings. Again, the scent is strong but not overpowering. All in all, it’s a really good product which I really enjoyed using and thought was great fun.

The final product was the 2 in 1 body spray which claimed to be a perfumed spray as well as a de-oderent. I’ll be honest, I was sceptical. I’m not a particularly sweaty person, but I still insist on wearing Mitchum de-oderent to be safe, so a 2 in 1 product had me feeling a little apprehensive. I tried the product at the weekend when I would only be pottering around the house etc. and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The spray lasted really well on me and the moisturising ingredients contained within it felt really gentle on my sensitive underarms. Will I wear it daily? No. But that’s cause I’m a paranoid android when it comes to body odours…

The range is available exclusively to select Superdrug stores all for Β£3.99 each. For locals, Β the range is stocked in the Belfast, Coleraine, Londonerry, Newtownards and Londonderry stores. You can also purchase the full range from Superdrug online!

Have you tried products like this?

  4. You had me at cotton candy! I am super intrigued by the foam consistency and must pop into superdrug the next time I”m in and maybe pick up a few! Are the good for sensitive skin?

    Loving the pictures as well, the simple branding with the bright pink lids really make them pop and the price tag is so tempting as well πŸ™‚
