Recently, I’ve noticed that my skin has been a lot drier. Ordinarily it is normal so when the dryness appeared it was super noticeable to me. I shopped my skincare stash for products that target dryness and I think I’ve found some real dry skin hero products along the way that I just had to share with you!
Whilst it isn’t aimed specifically at those with dry skin, this lightweight mist toner has been a joy to use each morning. It’s alcohol free which mean it won’t strip the skin. I find it to be super refreshing and energising and feel that it really primes my skin ahead of using serums and moisturisers which means deeper product penetration. It’s yet another thumbs up from me for Temple Spa!
Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask*
This mask has been one of my favourite discoveries this year!! This is a cream based face mask that spreads across the skin with ease and delivers an instant soothing effect.
The mask smells exactly like Manuka honey which is natural and lovely and something I’ve really enjoyed!
I have been applying a reasonably thick layer of this beautiful product once a week and each time after use my skin has been silky smooth and glowing as well as plumped and super hydrated. I will never ever be without this product. The results have been so good!
Image Skincare Ageless Total Pure Hyaluronic Acid Filler
As you will have all seen recently, I have been having some Image Peels at Therapie Clinic in Belfast.
To help lock in the moisture post peel and combat my dryness I’ve added this Image hyaluronic acid serum to my routine.
With a whopping 18% hyaluronic Acid content, this serum deeply hydrates, nourishes and plumps the skin. The difference in my skin since adding this serum post peel has been amazing. It sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave any residue behind.
Can Image really do no wrong?!
Sebamed Day Defence Cream and Night Intensive Cream*
These two products from Sebamed are from the Anti Dry range which has been formulated specifically to inject intensive and specialised treatment into dry skin. Both creams are created with the same ph value as healthy skin 5.5 which means the products are unlikely to irritate or sting dry skin.
The day cream is packed with hydrating and active ingredients such as Vitamins A and E, and the rich skin lipids from avocado oil. The cream not only moisturises the skin, but protects it throughout the day from environmental aggressors. Whilst it is a rich cream, it is absorbed quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue behind. My skin drinks this product up on those days when I have just needed something that little bit more hydrating.
The night cream is filled with jojoba oil to encourage elasticity within the skin as well as 3% rapeseed phytosterols (active substances) which helps protect against dehydration and tension in the skin as well as fighting itchy skin. The consistency of this cream is that touch thicker which I personally like in a night cream yet it still absorbs easily. I found this to be particularly soothing on my tight skin.
These creams are also super affordable at just £10.29 each for 50ml. Winning!
When my skin is feeling particularly dry, I like to bring out the oil/balm cleansers to sooth my skin and hydrate. This DHC oil has been a joyous discovery this year. It’s an olive oil based cleanser that dissolves make up with ease. What I particularly liked about this product is the fact that it didn’t leave an oily residue behind like some oil cleansers can. The rosemary scent is super refreshing too.
I massage this into my skin at night and the oil emulsifies with water leaving my skin feeling balanced, clean and fresh. I’ve almost finished this little bottle already. I’m hooked! I definitely want to explore more skincare goodies from DHC!
