A little while back I almost collapsed with excitement when I seen an email from IT Cosmetics in my inbox asking if I would like to try some products! The brand had been on my radar for quite some time and I had always meant to try it out any time that I was in the States. When I had seen that it had finally launched in the UK, in store at Boots , I had already been planning my purchases.
The brand very kindly sent me out two of their products to test out for myself: the Naturally Pretty Matte Luxe Transforming Eye Shadow Palette and the Hello Lashes 5 in 1 Mascara.
So, were they hits or misses?
Most people hear the words “matte eye shadow palette” and recoil in horror. But I realised recently that I actually didn’t have a lot of matte shades throughout my shadow collection and a matte palette seemed like a really nice change. Plus, the bonus is that the palette contains a transforming pearl shade which transforms the matte shades into pearlised shimmers, resulting in a multitude of options for different looks.
The shades are all soft and pretty and are the perfect shades for work and during the day for me. The palette contains:
- Sheer Joy: Soft Peach
- Soft Light: Light Latte
- Warmth: Warm Beige
- Soulful: Warm, Rosy Beige
- Mocha: Light Sable
- Violet: Lilac
- Midnight: Grey, Navy
- Noir: Black
- Love: Dusty, Soft Pink
- Sunrise: Soft Amber
- Sunset: Rich Amber
- All Heart: Warm Mauve
- Java: Chocolate
- Iconic: Rich Slate
- Transforming Pearl: Radiant Pearl
The shadows themselves are infused with collagen, silk and peptides making them super soft and easy to work with. They can also be used either wet or dry and as shadows or liners – very versatile. Whilst the shadows are powdery, there is next to no fall out which really surprised me. They also blend out with minimal effort making a quick look in the morning achievable and a real time saver. The durability of the shadows is fantastic but not as good as some other brands’ formulations if I’m really honest. I start to notice a little fading in pigmentation after around 6 hours with these.
To complete my IT Cosmetics eye look, I have been applying the Hello Lashes Mascara which I had very high hopes for when it arrived. I’m not sure that I have found “the one” when it comes to mascaras. I think Roller Lash is definitely up there, but I’m not sure it’s a lifetime commitment. The Hello Lashes mascara had me intrigued, not least because the packaging was so unlike anything else I had ever used with a huge foam coated wand handle and a brush that had a spiky ball on the end to pick up the tiny lashes in the corner of your eyes.
IT Cosmetics claim that the product can help increase your lashes by a whopping 430%. I have good lashes without product, so if I was to see that kind of benefit I’d have lashes up to my brows, but this mascara is definitely on to something.
The formula is infused with lash enhancing ingredients such as collagen, peptides and Vitamins A, C and E. I can definitely see my lashes increase significantly in length with just one or two coats, it is fantastic for building volume and the little ball applicator at the end picks up every lash. As for claims of curling, my lashes don’t take a curl that easily so the effect wasn’t immediately noticeable to me. There is no fall out or smudging throughout the day and the mascara is easy to remove with a standard eye make up remover meaning you wont have to tug at your sensitive eye area!
All in all, I have been super impressed my IT Cosmetics. Both products were hits for me and I will continue to use them. Next I am going to pick up the brand’s cult CC Cream as I have heard nothing but rave reviews about it along with their Bye Bye Under Eyes Concealer, so I will revert back with my thoughts on those when I try them!
Have you tried It Cosmetics yet? What is your favourite product?
