Vitamin C is one of those hero ingredients that should be incorporated into every skincare routine if you ask my humble opinion. It helps boost the skin’s collagen and brighten dark spots whilst fighting free radicals and pollutants to name a few the benefits.
My skin reacts really well to vitamin C products so I was super excited when the opportunity arose via online K Beauty retailer Koja Beauty, to try, By Wishtrend’s Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced Serum* I jumped at the chance!
By Wishtrend is a cruelty free Korean skincare brand that has created a line of products purely in response to their customer needs and I was really keen to explore the brand. I mean, it’s no secret that I love K Beauty brands!
So what did I think of the serum?
The By Wishtrend Advanced Serum comes in a dark glass bottle to prevent any light reactions with a pipette dispenser. Once the bottle is open it is highly advisable to keep the serum in the fridge because it is not stable at room temperature and is very prone to oxidisation. A pain, but manageable! You get 30ml of product in each bottle which will last a very long time. It’s a good idea to get through the product quickly if you can to avoid any oxidisation.
The consistency of the serum itself is quite thin and water-like. Because of this I use a little more product to cover my entire face and neck than I would ordinarily use (about 6-8 drops I guess). Even after using this much product, most mornings for around 6 weeks, I still have around half a bottle left!!
My skin absorbs the product almost instantly with no sticky residue left behind. Some mornings, I find my skin tingling a little in response to the high content of vitamin c, but nothing unbearable! Once applied, I ensure to moisturise and use SPF (a must) as normal. The serum prepares the skin well for the next steps in your skincare routine.
After using this serum, I feel like my skin is well moisturised, firm and a little brighter! The serum works well if your skin is congested too. I would have loved to have seen a more dramatic effect on my dark spots fading but you can’t win them all! Despite that, I would definitely recommend the serum for the level of Vitamin C alone!
The serum comes in at £27.40 for 30ml on Koja Beauty which I personally think is a bargain for the quality and potency of the product. My last Image Vitamin C Serum cost me almost £60!! Koja Beauty have the best selection of KBeauty products online including klairs (which I’m dying to try out) and Neogen! I will absolutely be treating myself to a little spree soon!
