I struggle to love my hair. Mostly because I’m too lazy to style it properly every day to ensure I have a big bouncy curly blow dry at all times – too much effort!
Instead, I try to focus on at least keeping it as healthy and nourished as I can. I’m not a total bad hair mummy after all.
My own hair is fine, a tad on the dry side and can suffer from frizz and flyaways. Not the easiest to work with. I have hair extensions in to counter how thin and fine my hair is and I’m not ready to take them out any time soon.
In the past few weeks and months, I’ve added some new products to my haircare routine which I’ve grown to love and given the fact my blog rarely features hair care products, I thought I would share my thoughts on them with you all.
Shea Moisture Argan Oil and Almond Milk Shampoo and Conditioner*
I’m not the most loyal to shampoo and conditioner. In fact, I’m a floozy, I’ve had my fair share in the shower with me 😉
I’ve recently been using this combo and I’ve fallen in love a little. Designed to smooth and tame frizz whilst softening the hair and smoothing the cuticles against humidity, this dream team has really helped me get sleeker, healthier looking locks.
The Cleanse & Hydrate Shampoo is sulfate free which gently cleanses the hair whilst adding shine and smoothing the hair generally. The Soften and Detangle conditioner literally does exactly what it says on the tin whilst also smelling good enough to eat.
Both products are formulated with Almond milk which is rich in Vitamins A and E to leave hair feeling seek and smooth. The addition of Argan oil improves manageability whilst adding shine. Marshmallow root extract detangles the hair and Shea butter penetrates the scalp to lock in moisture.
At £10.99 each, they are a bit pricier than what I would usually spend on a shampoo and conditioner if I’m honest but with a huge 379ml product in each, they will last me for months! You can pick the range up from Boots who often have it on their 3 for 2 deals!
Another product that I added to my routine a few months back is something that I’d wanted to pick up for ages. I had been eyeing up Ouai as a brand for months and months. Their products always looked so chic and luxe and every review I seemed to read were raves. I hadn’t really been using a leave in conditioner so I thought that was the perfect place to start when checking the brand out.
Packed full of moisturising properties (as you’d expect with a leave in) and enhanced heat protection, this little spritz has been a firm staple in my routine with me reaching for it every single time I wash my hair.
The mist smells incredible. Floral, light and very “I’ve just come from the salon”-esque.
I have been spritzing about 6 sprays of this into my damp hair after washing and styling as usual. My hair really enjoys the product and noticeably misses it when I don’t have it as I found out when I didn’t pack it when I went to the spa and my hair felt nowhere near as smooth.
It’s certainly wet my appetite when it comes to the brand and I’ve got my eye on several more products to pick up next. The mist is £22 for 140ml and can be picked up from SpaceNK, Debenhams or Feel Unique!
Hask Deep Conditioning Sachets*
Once a week (usually a Sunday), I try to give my hair a really good, deep condition. Hask haircare have launched these cute little deep conditioning sachets inspired by and infused with various wines – right up my street!
There is something for every hair need including conditioners for repair and hydration, shine enhancement and colour protection. The masks are thick and packed full of conditioning ingredients to penetrate the hair. All of the masks smell incredible too and it’s a real pleasure to slather them on and leave for a few hours while they get to work.
For just £3.99 each, these sachets are the perfect deep conditioning treat. I get three uses out of each sachet too which makes them really good value. They can be picked up at Superdrug and will most certainly always be in my pamper routine!
Up until recently, I was a Tangle Teezer girl but I decided to pick up one of these mini WetBrushes at Boots and I’m a convert.
This one is super cute and perfect for stuffing in your handbag. The bristles are so flexible making detangling a doddle. Even when my hair is wet and tangled, it never hurts to use this brush. The tips of the bristles allow for the scalp and hair follicles to be stimulated whilst the hair is brushed which helps encourage growth.
The WetBrush line is extensive and I have my eye on their specialist extension brush as well as their shine enhancer brush next!
New Nordic Hair Volume Gummies*
The newest addition to my haircare routine are these delicious gummies from New Nordic!
These apple flavoured vitamins are packed with zinc, biotin, horsetail and millet to supply nutrients to the scalp and hair follicle to encourage healthy hair and growth. I haven’t been using them long enough to actively see an improvement in my hair volume but I am very hopeful and will keep you all updated.
I take two gummies per day after breakfast and it’s really hard not to have some more because they genuinely just taste like sweets!
