Hello lovelies! I’m in full spring cleaning mode and we’re moving house in the next month or so therefore I thought I needed to get rid of these empties which are lying in the spare bedroom! Here’s what I’ve used up recently.
Skincare
I have been really concentrating on my skincare routine lately and have used up two serums from Clarins. The first is the Hydraquench Intensive Serum. This is the second bottle of this serum that I’ve used up in the past 12 months. It has been a Winter skin saviour for me as it is so hydrating. It sinks into the skin quickly without leaving any residue and it doesn’t break the bank at £43.00. I will definitely repurchase this product. The second serum from Clarins that I’ve reached the end of is the Multi Active Skin Renewal Serum. This was one of the first facial serums I introduced to my routine. It has a lightweight texture that my skin absorbs easily and a lovely fresh scent that I love. To be honest though, I don’t see a huge difference in my skin when I use this product, it feels nice, but it doesn’t wow me like other serums out there so for that reason, I won’t be repurchasing this one.
Another skincare product that i’ve used up is the Josie Maran Cleansing Oil which I reviewed here. I wasn’t sure about this product to begin with but it has really won me over and I enjoyed using it over the past few months. It melted my make up off so easily in the evenings and the scent was beautiful. I picked this up in the States. I probably won’t pick it up in a Sephora order any time soon, but if I’m back in the States this year, I’ll certainly be checking out more products from the line.
I’m also saying goodbye to a tube of Origins Modern Friction Scrub. I had this face scrub for over a year. A little went a long way and to be honest, I didn’t love it as much as everybody else seems to, so I would use it sporadically. It did do the job in exfoliating my skin. But I wasn’t blown away with it and never felt that really great exfoliating feeling while using this product. I won’t repurchase this scrub as I’ve used so many others that I’ve much preferred.
Bodycare
I haven’t used up that many body products recently. One thing I am very sad to see the end of is the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. This stuff is incredible. The scent is divine. The product is so moisturising. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH. My skin feels and smells amazing after i’ve used this product and this small version lasted me for months. I am definitely repurchasing this.
Another shower gel I’ve used up is the Victoria’s Secret Endless Love shower gel. A friend brought me this back as a gift from America before Christmas along with the matching moisturiser. The apple blossom scent is so fresh and the gel lathers beautifully. I’ve really enjoyed using this in the mornings and I found that the scent lasted well on my skin. If I’m at VS anytime soon, I would be inclined to pick some shower gels up after using this.
A random empty comes in the form of this Mrs Frosty bubble bath from Avon. This was a little stocking filler from my parents at Christmas and I’ve been happily using it up. The packaging is absolutely adorable and the spiced cranberry and orange scent is gorgeous. It creates a good amount of bubbles and feels moisturising on the skin.
Make up minis
I’ve been using up some deluxe samples that I’ve had in my stash since Christmas recently to decide if I want to buy the full size of any of them. I used up two mini mascaras: the Boots No 7 Lash Impact mascara and the cult Benefit They’re Real mascara. I’ve used the Benefit one a few times over the years and really liked it. It lengthens my lashes and is very noticeable. I definitely will pick it up again at some point in the future. The No 7 mascara on the other hand I wasn’t a fan of. It was clumpier and while it gave me some length, it wasn’t noticeable enough for me to really like.
The final empty is a deluxe sample of the Cover FX Blemish Treatment Primer that I got from Sephora in my last haul. This small tube lasted me for over a month and I was pretty impressed with the results and the long list of spot fighting ingredients.
Have you used any of these products before? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time my lovelies!
